Chemical enterprise of OJSC "Azot", Kemerovo

OJSC Azot (Kemerovo) is the largest chemical combine in the Urals for the production of ammonium nitrate, nitrogen fertilizers, carbamide and other compounds. Since 2011, is part of the holding company SDS ("Siberian Business Union").

Creature

The construction of the Novo-Kemerovo chemical combine by the decision of the Council of People's Commissars began in 1945. By the end of the 1940s, warehouses, a supply base, assembly, repair and construction sites had been prepared, railways and roads had been built. A settlement of Predzavodskaya was built for 2,500 people. During the erection, the labor of the GULAG prisoners was used.

Start-up of the enterprise took place on 5.11.1956. By the beginning of the 1960s, ammonia production workshops, a number of technological workshops, thermal power plants, CBO, and other structures were built. The future "Azot" (Kemerovo) was built by leaps and bounds.

Development

Since 1961, the full operation of the enterprise has begun. Over the next decade, the production of methanol, ammonia, caprolactam, sulfenamide, carbamides, sulfuric acid was launched. For recreation and recreation the "Berezovo" camp and the "Sputnik" pioneer camp were built.

In the 1970s the collective was repeatedly awarded with state awards for the fruitful work, the most significant of which are the Order of the October Revolution, commemorative and honorary signs of the Central Committee of the CPSU. In 1975 the Novo-Kemerovo chemical plant was renamed into the Azot plant. Kemerovo has become a major industrial center of the chemical industry. In the 80's production was significantly expanded due to large-capacity units "Ammonia-1, -2, -3", working on natural gas.

Nowadays

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, "Azot" (Kemerovo) was corporatized. There has been a significant decline in both production and development of the enterprise. The help of the governor Aman Tuleyev, who allocated a considerable loan in 1998, helped to get out of the deep crisis. The enterprise becomes a part of the largest Siberian holding SIBUR.

Since 2000, production has been gradually improving, after a five-year hiatus, exports have been resumed. Debt is restructured. From 2005 to 2009, SIBUR invested 6 billion rubles for modernization.

At the end of 2011, the new owner of Azot is the Siberian Business Union. The increase in production continued. For the development of the plant from 2012 to 2015 directed 9 billion rubles. As a result, the company has demonstrated record performance in recent years.

Description

A little over 6,000 people work at Azot. More than 100 employees were awarded the title of Honorary and Honored Chemist of the Russian Federation. The plant has about 100 structural subdivisions, over 1 000 production, storage, household facilities.

One of the important stages of further development is not just the modernization of the existing production, which has been operating for more than forty years in its main part, but the construction of a new complex, which will include aggregates of ammonia, urea, nitric acid production, and porous saltpetre. The new equipment will initially consume less raw materials, meet the highest world standards. At the same time its operation will be at least 40 years. The program is implemented jointly with Italian partners. The sum of investments will make 1,2 billion euro that is the largest investment project in Russia in the field of synthesis of nitrogen fertilizers. Preparatory works are carried out for the design, selection of equipment.

Production

Last years the enterprise "Azot" (Kemerovo) has left on record rates of work. For the first time in 37 years since the launch of ammonia production, the factory workers have produced about 1 million tons of ammonia. In 2015, 800 tons of nitric acid were produced - this is also the best achievement in plant history.

The main gift for the 60th anniversary of the enterprise was made by the workers of the workshop for the production of ammonium nitrate. Their achievements have become the most impressive - 1 million tons of mineral fertilizers, so necessary for agriculture.

Production

Plant "Azot" (Kemerovo) over the years has produced about 84 million tons of products. The main types of goods in percentage terms are:

  • Ammonia - 25,5%.
  • Ammonium nitrate is 22%.
  • Nitric acid - 18,5%.
  • Carbamide - 15%.
  • Caprolactam - 3.5%.
  • Other products - 15.5%.

In addition to the traditional products of chemistry, the enterprise develops promising directions, first of all - new complex granular fertilizers in fertilizers: nitrosulfate and carbosulfate. Their use in experimental fields demonstrated a significant increase in yield. A big bet is made on liquid fertilizers.

Modernization

The plant "Azot" pays special attention to new technologies and innovation. The enterprise has 45 shops, each of which is required to be modernized on a regular basis. In 2013-2016, about 500 innovations and rational proposals were introduced. If in 2014 the economic effect of various improvements amounted to 11.7 million rubles, in 2015 - 58 million rubles. In 2016 this indicator exceeded 100 million rubles.

In 2017, a project for the transition of the sulfuric acid plant to a short production scheme and the implementation of the short-cycle adsorption method for the production of hydrogen from a mixture of ammonia is being implemented.
