Bando for curtains - hit of the season

It would seem, well, what new can appear in the fashion industry of curtains for windows? Lambrequins, various types of fabrics, Roman and other modifications - all this is not fresh. However, designers of this area do not cease to amaze and please ordinary people with their inventions, and now a novelty comes to our houses - a bando for curtains.

What it is?

There is a special material used to create rigid types of lambrequins, which is called "shabrak." Bando for curtains - this is just such an adhesive fabric, only received its name on behalf of the manufacturer. This same word has become a household name for all solid decorative lambricks that adorn our windows or door openings. This material can be of different density, as well as gluing characteristics. A non-woven structure with two or one surface for gluing quickly fell in love with both design professionals and needlewomen who prefer to independently sew curtains for their home.

Visual effects

The beauty of the bando for curtains is that it is not just a decorative element for decorating a window opening, but also a functional detail. The fact is that the combination of the rigidity of such lambrequin and the softly flowing elongated silhouettes of the curtains creates a special visual effect. If the bando is fixed under the ceiling, you will get the illusion of a higher room, which is especially important for residents of standard "Khrushchev" or private houses.

Finished and homemade

Bando for curtains can be purchased already ready, presented in a wide range of shapes, sizes and colors, and make them yourself. By the way, there is nothing complicated in this. To begin with, all parameters are measured: length (cornice, respectively), width. Then the form is constructed. All this is drawn on plain paper, and then transferred to the shabrak. The allowances for subsequent processing at this stage are not needed. The next step: the pattern is duplicated on the fabric, but already with a margin of several centimeters. Now you need to fix the part from the main material to the bando according to its adhesive properties, for example a steam generator. It should be ensured that there are no misalignments, so it is better to start from the center, moving to the edges. In order for the product to turn out to be of high quality and have a proper appearance, you will need a lining. She is put on her face freely without wrinkling or stretching. Then grind on all sides, except for the top with a 3-4-mm indent from the edge. After that, the lining is leveled, ironed and sewn with the same indentation. To handle the top slice, Velcro is used - a special Velcro, which is pruned so that it is not noticeable. The same Velcro should also be on the cornice for fastening hard lambrequin. At will and in accordance with the general composition it can be decorated with embroidery, beads, applique and other accessories. Curtains with a bando (photos illustrate this clearly) look stylish and luxurious.
